Green banking is all about reducing the carbon footprint of our banking activities. Of course that doesn’t mean we can’t earn a great interest rate while we bank green. It just so happens that some of the best savings account rates are available from online-only bank saving accounts.  This is great news. You can earn a higher savings account rate and bank eco-friendly at the same time. In some cases the online bank is a division of a large bank and in other cases it is a true internet-only bank. Either way the rates are good and the accounts are pro-environment. Green Bank Report is listing the highest rates on savings accounts as ranked by APY:
